Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) in entering and updating patients health history in their medical records including but not limited to allergies, reported health problems, health system review, and current medication list. Performs specific procedures such as but not limited to EKGs, vital signs, etc. with appropriate orientation. Assists all staff with basic office medical functions to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care activities.Works closely with clerical and nursing staff to ensure expedient, appropriate patient care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with RN and providers in delivering patient care.
- Obtains appropriate health history of patients for RN review, as needed.
- Prepares patients for their procedures.
- Performs clerical work consisting of but not limited to: calling physicians’ offices for missing paperwork (H&Ps, clearances, consents, etc.).
- Functions collaboratively with all staff to ensure continuity of care.
- High school diploma
- Graduate of approved program for Medical Assistant (MA)
- 1 year Medical Assistant experience
- Office skills such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- Excellent customer service/patient relation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and present self in a professional, courteous and tactful manner.
- 3 years of Medical Assistant experience.
- Certified Medical Assistant.
