Registered Nurse School Setting - Buffalo, NY

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license required in New York State
  • Prior experience as a school nurse (RN, LPN, or LVN) or relevant nursing experience with children strongly preferred
  • Sound knowledge of New York State health mandates and protocols for school-aged youth
  • Proficient in performing screenings (vision, hearing, etc.), routine tests, and maintaining accurate health records and documentation
  • Capable of caring for children between ages 3 and 18 within a school environment
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with students, faculty, and families
  • Flexible and able to be assigned to any public or private school within the district
  • Must be available for onsite work; remote options are not available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver routine and emergency medical care during the school day
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with student health plans
  • Conduct state-mandated health screenings and accurately report findings
  • Promote health education for students and school staff
  • Assess and address minor illnesses or injuries while maintaining up-to-date health records for all students
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to medical emergencies and implement care protocols as needed
