Who You Are:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Prior school nursing experience required
  • Demonstrated expertise in tracheostomy care, urinary catheterization, ventilator management, and using/lifting patients as needed
  • Ability to provide compassionate, individualized care for a high school quadriplegic male student using a sip/puff wheelchair
  • Previous critical care background preferred
  • Hands-on experience with medical equipment in school or similar environments
  • No LPNs; RN candidates only

Your Responsibilities:

  • Offer one-on-one nursing care during school hours (7AM-2:30PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays)
  • Perform skilled procedures including trach care, urinary catheterization, and ventilator management
  • Monitor students health status and provide emergency support as needed
  • Communicate closely with educators, healthcare professionals, and students caregivers
