A part-time contract opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse to deliver 1:1 care for a high school student who is a quadriplegic and uses a sip/puff wheelchair, requires ventilator support, and needs regular trach and urinary catheterization assistance. Details:

Part-time, contract position for the 2026-2027 school year (August 24, 2026 May 28, 2027)
Work Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7:00 AM 2:30 PM

Key Qualifications:

Current Illinois Registered Nurse licensure is required
Prior experience in a school nursing role is essential
Proven expertise caring for students with trachs, ventilator, and urinary catheterization
Ability to assist with safe lifting and transferring as needed
Previous critical care experience is a strong plus
Only RNs will be considered for this role (no LPNs)

Support and monitor the student throughout the school day, delivering all necessary health-related and daily living tasks
Perform ventilator management, trach care, and suctioning as needed
Manage catheterization care with professionalism and sensitivity
