A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with school experience in a supportive educational setting near Plainfield, NJ. This short-term role runs from June 1 to June 26, 2026, providing dedicated care to a young student with specialized medical needs.

The assignment centers on direct, onsite care for a 3-year-old student diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD). Responsibilities involve close monitoring, NG-tube management (the student does not have a G-tube), handling daily care routines, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment throughout the school day. Transport and lifting are part of the role, as the student is non-ambulatory and weighs approximately 24 pounds. Ride along on school bus routes is required to support the student during transportation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality medical care and monitoring on-site during school hours (8am 3pm)
• Safely perform lifts and transfers as needed for a non-ambulatory student
• Administer NG-tube feedings and manage related needs
• Accompany the student on school buses to oversee safe transport
• Communicate effectively with faculty, family, and healthcare providers
• Maintain detailed health documentation and comply with all regulations

Desired Qualifications:

• Active RN license in New Jersey, in good standing
• Strong pediatric nursing background, preferably within educational settings
• Direct experience with NG-tubes and medically complex children
• Ability to handle lifting, transport, and physical aspects of care
• Compassion, patience, and keen observational skills
