Responsibilities:

  • Orient clinical staff to their job responsibilities and provide leadership in clinical problem solving.
  • Nurse will evaluate and schedule in-services/training as needed.
  • Ensure department activities and records are in adherence to AAAHC and various licensing and regulatory requirements.

  • Qualifications:

    • Must have PA RN license
    • Must have long-term care experience
    • Must have prior Assistant Director of Nursing experience
    • Prior experience as a Director of Nursing in long term care strongly preferred
    • Must have strong clinical background and knowledge
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Must have strong leadership skills and experience

SUMMARY OF JOB: Responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state and facility standards, guidelines and regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Director of Nursing in the day to day functioning of the Nursing Department. Assist in reviewing, revising and updating policies and procedures used in the Nursing Department. Assist with the scheduling of nurses and nursing assistants. Keep current in Nursing Practice by attending classes, seminars and workshops. Attend and participate in Nursing Administration meetings. Cover weekends, holidays and other times as needed on a rotating basis with other Nursing Administration staff. Take call responsibility for the Nursing Department on rotating basis with Director of Nursing and Staff Development Coordinator. Assume responsibility of Director of Nursing in his/her absence.
