  • Pre op would be 0630-1500

  • PACU shifts start between 0730 and 1200 until 1600 and 2030.  There will be a requirement for so many 1200-2030 closing shifts as well

     

On call Shift -is every other Friday 2030-0730, 1 Sunday every 5-6 weeks from 0730-0730.

A Brief Overview
 

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) cares for post-surgical patients waiting for their anesthesia to wear off. As Assistant Nurse Manager, you will support the nurse manager by providing clinical supervision and unit coordination. This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Manage the day-to-day operations of ambulatory procedural settings caring for hospitalized patients. Oversee nursing personnel and patient care providers in procedural settings to ensure quality of care. Anticipate and resolve patient care issues. Ensure continuity of patient care by actively participating in and facilitating communication and collaboration among and between department staff and other departments re: operational issues. Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers. Provide ongoing clinical evaluation of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers on assigned unit/area. Counsel employees on performance issues, administers initial corrective actions, collaborates in monitoring attendance issues. Alert Nurse Manager of significant clinical or other performance issues. Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees. Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines. Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CC policies and procedures. Monitor daily clinical operations of outpatient clinics (patient flow, staffing, supplies, etc.).
