As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care to a student in the classroom, focusing on monitoring a student with a tracheostomy (no interventions required). This assignment offers consistent, part-time morning hours through late June, followed by a modified summer schedule in July and early August.

Desired Background and Certifications:

  • Active Massachusetts LPN or RN ASN license required
  • Previous experience working as an LPN or LVN in a school or pediatric setting preferred
  • Solid understanding of tracheostomy care in children (with anticipation of minimal intervention)
  • Ability to collaborate professionally with teachers, school staff, and families
  • Compassionate, patient-focused, and attentive to student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated, one-on-one classroom support for a student with a trach
  • Monitor students daily health status and communicate observations as needed
  • Maintain accurate student health records
  • Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to create a safe, inclusive environment
  • Participate in care planning and communicate with families and healthcare providers as appropriate

Assignment Details:
