Job Type: Full-Time 8am-4pm Monday to Friday.
Location: Somerton, Philadelphia, PA

Accela Rehab and Care Center at Somerton is seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Unit Manager to join our clinical leadership team. The RN Unit Manager will oversee the day-to-day nursing operations of an assigned unit while ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Job Summary

The RN Unit Manager will provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff, coordinate resident care, monitor compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards, and promote a positive environment for residents, families, and employees.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the assigned nursing unit.

• Supervise and support RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing staff.

• Ensure residents receive individualized, safe, and quality care.

• Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor residents' changes in condition.

• Review and ensure accurate completion of nursing documentation and medical records.

• Coordinate care plans and collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation staff, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

• Communicate effectively with residents and their families regarding care, concerns, and changes in condition.

• Monitor medication administration and ensure compliance with physician orders and facility policies.

• Assist with staff scheduling, assignments, and coverage as needed.

• Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to nursing staff.

• Participate in staff education, training, and competency programs.

• Monitor infection prevention and control practices.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and standards.

• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

• Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally.

• Assist with surveys, audits, and regulatory inspections.

• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.

• Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

• Experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or post-acute care setting preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a nursing team.

• Knowledge of nursing practices, regulatory requirements, and resident care standards.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.
