The Role

As a Registered Nurse in UVA Health’s Outpatient Surgery Centers, you will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties in a focused outpatient environment. This role balances efficiency with clinical rigor and allows nurses to deliver high-quality care in settings intentionally designed for safety, flow, and patient experience.

In this role, you will:

Deliver perioperative nursing care including preoperative preparation, intraoperative support, and postoperative recovery

Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and fellow nurses to ensure safe and seamless procedures

Apply evidence-based practice and standardized protocols to support patient safety and optimal outcomes

Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and professional standards

Join the world of outpatient surgery, with no call, no weekends, and no holidays MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S): Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact AHA BLS, ACLS & PALS before the end of the orientation period. PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S): Prior experience in perioperative or outpatient recovery settings (pre- and/or post-operative care preferred). Demonstrated proficiency in intravenous (IV) therapy, including insertion and management. At least one (1) year of professional nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
