Position Overview
Casper Mountain Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our nursing team.
As a CMA, you will play an important role in the safe and timely administration of medications while supporting residents with their daily care needs. Working under the supervision and direction of licensed nursing staff, you will help ensure medications are administered accurately, resident responses are appropriately observed and reported, and documentation is completed in accordance with facility procedures and applicable requirements.
In addition to medication administration responsibilities, you will assist residents with activities of daily living, mobility, personal care, and other needs within your authorized scope of practice.

Key Responsibilities
Medication Administration & Monitoring
Prepare and administer medications as authorized and delegated in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, applicable Wyoming requirements, and permitted scope of practice
Follow established medication administration procedures, including appropriate resident identification and documentation
Maintain accurate and timely medication administration records within the electronic medical record (EMR) or medication administration record (MAR)
Observe residents for medication effectiveness, potential side effects, adverse reactions, or changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the licensed nurse
Immediately communicate medication errors, omissions, refusals, unavailable medications, or other medication-related concerns to the supervising licensed nurse
Follow established procedures regarding medication storage, security, handling, and disposal
Maintain medication carts and medication-related work areas in a clean, organized, and secure condition
Obtain and document vital signs or other authorized observations when required before or after medication administration
Never independently alter medication orders, dosages, schedules, or routes outside authorized scope and delegation
Resident Care & Support
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, personal hygiene, and nutritional assistance
Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, repositioning, and mobility in accordance with individualized care plans
Respond promptly and professionally to call lights and resident requests
Provide toileting and incontinence care while maintaining resident privacy, dignity, and comfort
Assist residents with meals, hydration, and feeding when required
Promote resident independence and encourage residents to participate in care to the greatest extent possible
Maintain resident rooms and care areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition
Provide compassionate emotional support and build respectful relationships with residents
Observation & Changes in Condition
Observe residents for changes in physical, cognitive, emotional, functional, or behavioral condition
Promptly report changes in condition to the supervising licensed nurse
Recognize and immediately report signs of possible medication reactions or other clinical concerns
Accurately obtain, record, and communicate assigned vital signs and resident observations
Report falls, injuries, incidents, skin concerns, pain, changes in appetite or hydration, and other resident concerns according to facility procedures
Respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations and immediately obtain licensed nursing assistance when necessary
Documentation & Communication
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of medications and assigned resident care
Communicate medication-related concerns clearly and promptly to licensed nursing staff
Participate in shift communication and provide relevant resident information to appropriate team members
Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, families, nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members
Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality in accordance with applicable requirements and facility policies
Follow individualized resident care plans and nursing instructions
Infection Prevention, Safety & Compliance
Follow infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene, PPE, and applicable transmission-based precautions
Maintain compliance with facility medication-management procedures and resident-safety standards
Follow fall-prevention, emergency response, resident transfer, and other applicable safety procedures
Protect resident rights, dignity, privacy, preferences, and personal belongings
Immediately report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, mistreatment, or other resident-safety concerns in accordance with facility policy and applicable reporting requirements
Participate in required education, competency evaluations, in-services, and training
Maintain required certifications and competencies applicable to the position
Qualifications
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification/status in good standing in the State of Wyoming, as required for the position
Current Medication Aide certification/authorization in Wyoming, in good standing and eligible to perform medication-related duties within applicable scope and supervision requirements
Current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or as required by facility policy
Previous skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, rehabilitation, or healthcare experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to medication accuracy and resident safety
Ability to recognize and appropriately report changes in resident condition
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with licensed nurses, CNAs, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Compassionate and respectful approach to caring for older adults and residents with varying clinical needs
