    We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and results-driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and help ensure the highest standards of care for our residents.

    Position Summary

    The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership and clinical direction of the nursing department.

    The DON will oversee nursing operations, staffing, clinical quality, staff development, regulatory compliance, infection prevention, care planning, and quality improvement while partnering closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide overall leadership and direction to the nursing department

    • Oversee daily nursing operations and resident care

    • Lead and support RNs, LPNs/LVNs, CNAs, and nursing leadership

    • Establish clear clinical and performance expectations

    • Monitor resident care and clinical outcomes

    • Conduct regular rounds and maintain visibility throughout the facility

    • Monitor changes in resident condition and ensure appropriate follow-up

    • Review incidents, falls, infections, wounds, hospitalizations, and other clinical events

    • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation

    • Oversee care planning and interdisciplinary collaboration

    • Partner with MDS, therapy, dietary, social services, activities, and physicians

    • Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures

    • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations

    • Maintain ongoing survey readiness

    • Lead nursing preparation for state and federal surveys

    • Develop and implement corrective action plans when necessary

    • Monitor quality measures and clinical performance

    • Lead and participate in QAPI initiatives

    • Oversee infection prevention and control practices

    • Monitor medication management and treatment practices

    • Assist with nursing recruitment, onboarding, and retention

    • Develop and mentor nurses and nursing supervisors

    • Provide ongoing coaching, education, and performance feedback

    • Monitor staffing levels and work with leadership to address staffing needs

    Qualifications

    • Current RN license in good standing

    • Previous Director of Nursing, ADON, or senior nursing leadership experience

    • Skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute experience strongly preferred

    • Strong knowledge of clinical practices and SNF regulations

    • Experience with state and federal surveys preferred

    • Strong understanding of quality improvement and regulatory compliance

    • Excellent leadership and communication skills

    • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking abilities

    • Ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain nursing staff

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Overview Shift Available: Nights Employment Type: Part-Time Hours: 7:00pm-7:00am (12-hour shifts) Location: St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO We are seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), sometimes referred to as a Telemetry RN or Tele RN. A Tele RN specializing in attending to patients within our telemetry units, including those needing cardiac monitoring. The Tele RN will monitor and interpret our patient's vital signs, such as heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level. Continuous monitoring of patients, by the Telemetry RN enables gathering real-time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient's condition. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Recognizes signs of abuse and reports appropriately to the hospital social worker and/or Adult / Child Protective Services. Familiar with the EMTALA Regulations. Responsible for the observation and direction of patient lifts, mobilization, and shall participate as needed in patient handling. Attends and maintains mandatory training in safe patient handling, trained in safe lifting techniques, includes but not limited to 1) Appropriate use of lifting devices and equipment, 2) Five areas of body exposure: vertical, lateral, bariatric repositioning and ambulation, 3) Use of lifting devices to handle patients safely. Uses professional judgment and clinical assessment in safe patient handling that are consistent with Safe Patient Handling policies. Uses two patient identifiers consistently when drawing lab, administering medications and performing procedures. Follows medication reconciliation policy consistently. Does not use unacceptable abbreviations in documentation (uses read back on all telephone orders.) Monitors authentication and validation of telephone orders within 24 hours by the physician. Ensures consistently that all clinical alarms, i.e. cardiac monitors are set with the appropriate parameters for the patient and are audible at all times. Qualifications Education and Work Experience Current and valid state RN License. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred. Ventilator Management experience preferred. Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
