Glendive Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as an RN Supervisor for our night shift team. This leadership role combines clinical expertise with operational oversight, ensuring patients receive high-quality care while supporting nursing staff across multiple departments.

What You'll Do

  • Provide leadership and clinical support during the night shift
  • Coordinate staffing assignments and patient care activities
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Monitor patient care delivery and address clinical concerns
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
  • Support and mentor nursing staff while promoting teamwork
  • Respond to changes in patient conditions and emergency situations
  • Provide direct patient care when needed
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and safety practices

Work areas include ER, ICU, Med/Surg, OB, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, and Transitional Care

 

Qualifications

  • Current Montana RN license or Compact RN License
  • Minimum of two years of acute care nursing experience
  • Previous charge nurse or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to effectively lead and support a multidisciplinary team

NURSE UNIT MANAGER

SUMMARY: The Nursing Supervisor/ Unit Manager performs professional supervisory nursing practice in the care of the physically and mentally ill. Work involves responsibility for supervising the provision of quality nursing care given at the facility. The position is responsible for maintaining the quality and adequacy of nursing practice; coordinating nursing programs; for recognizing and assisting in solving professional, administrative, and supervisory problems. Position exercises considerable judgment in applying professional knowledge in solving nursing problems within established policies and practices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Determines the optimal allocation of present staff, per shift and assignment on each unit is present. Coordinates the care of patients on assigned shifts. Communicates shifts concerns by the unit to appropriate staff (via e-mails, voice mail, etc.). Review of 24 Hour Report and review patients as indicated for change of condition. Serves as the administrative authority for the smooth functioning of all units. Notifies the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Scheduler/Central Supply of urgent concerns during the shift. When the concern is non-urgent, notify the manager by phone message or e-mail. Receives employee, resident, and family grievances. Refers information to the appropriate manager.
