Take on a meaningful, rewarding assignment providing expert nursing care in a school-based setting. This full-time contract role is ideal for a Registered Nurse passionate about working one-on-one with students who have complex medical needs. The assignment runs through May 2027 with a consistent 35-hour week, offering both continuity and variety.
You will provide direct care for a 20-year-old transition student who utilizes a wheelchair and requires specialized support including trach and G-tube management. Your day will start and end accompanying the student on a bus ride between home and school, making your impact both vital and visible. The environment is dynamic and collaborative, but this position is fully onsite, ensuring you’re always present for the student’s care and comfort.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Clinical experience with tracheostomy and G-tube care strongly preferred
- Previous school nursing experience is a plus, but not required
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to respond effectively to a high-needs 1:1 caseload
- CPR/BLS certification
- Must be able to commit to the full contract period
- No PEL (Professional Educator License) required
