Director of Nursing (DON)

Long term skilled nursing facility located in Ocean County, New Jersey is looking for a talented and hard-working Director of Nursing (DON) to join our team of outstanding professionalsWe are looking for an experienced DON to organize and oversee all nursing operations of the facility (150 beds). The DON will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies. This position requires a hard-working and compassionate registered nurse with finely developed managerial and administrative skills with an emphasis on problem-solving. The DON must foster a work environment committed to excellence that will support staff working in the facility and patients alike.

 Job Description:

·         DON takes the lead in planning, organizing, and directing the Nursing Department.

·         Identifies the needs, problems, and progress of nursing services and makes recommendations for improvement.

·         Enforce policies and provides guidance to the nursing staff.

·         Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator.

·         Conducts regular rounds to monitor the delivery of nursing care.

·         Carries out, coordinates, and manages administrative functions in areas or programs related to nursing services.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

·         Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Registered Professional Nurses license in the State of practice.

·         Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and mature judgments.

·         Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Nursing Department.

·         Minimum of 2 years of progressive nursing in Long Term Care with managerial experience.
