Duties of Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - Specializes in Infection Control & Wounds

  • Develop and periodically update the nursing service objectives and statement of philosophy

  • Develop standards of nursing practice

  • Develop and maintain nursing policy and procedures

  • Develop and maintain written job descriptions for each level of nursing personnel

  • Schedule daily rounds to visit residents

  • Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services

  • Recruiting and retaining the number of levels of nursing personnel necessary to meet the nursing care needs of each resident

  • Develop staff training programs

  • Participate in the planning and budgeting for nursing services

  • Ensuring that all health service notes are informative and descriptive of the supervision and care rendered including the resident's response to his or her care

  • Assess the nursing requirements for each resident admitted and assist the Medical Director in planning for the resident's care

  • Participating in the development and implementation of the resident assessment (MDS) and comprehensive care plan

A well-established Skilled Nursing Facility in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department. The ideal candidate will be a strong clinical leader who is committed to quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and positive clinical outcomes. Position Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and direction to the nursing department. Supervise and support RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing personnel.
