RN Supervisor (OVERNIGHT)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Must be a graduate from a reputable nursing school.

• Should hold a valid and current RN license.

• Preferably have 1-2 years of experience in long-term care settings.

• Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Should maintain excellent physical and mental health.

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance.

• Should be adept at following both verbal and written instructions.

• Must have the training and expertise required for effective supervision.

The RN Supervisor act as reliable assistants to the Director of Nursing Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Facilitate the admission process for new residents.

• Ensure timely receipt of medications ordered within the last 24 hours.

• Manage IV and central line procedures.

• Verify sign-in sheets in alignment with census and staffing ratios.

• Answer telephone calls as needed.

• Manage staffing issues, including call-offs and filling staffing gaps.

• Closely monitor laboratory results.

• Accurately record daily intake and output.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of medication rooms and clinical areas.

• Oversee emergency kit supplies and reorder as necessary.

• Ensure the security of oxygen tanks.

• Inspect oxygen tubing and humidifiers for proper condition.

• Supervise meal service, ensuring dietary accuracy and appropriate timing and temperature.

• Facilitate the resident discharge process.

• Provide hands-on care, including responding to call lights and assisting with resident needs.

• Conduct thorough rounds to monitor resident positioning, devices, skin condition, oral care, grooming, and accessibility of call lights.

• Address concerns from residents and their families with professionalism.

• Keep the 24-hour report log updated.

• Ensure the building remains secure.

• Welcome and assist physicians upon their arrival.

• Administer oral warnings as necessary and inform the Director of Nursing Services.

• Be prepared to undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing Services or the Administrator.
