
Advanced Practice Provider, Neuroscience
Overview
JOB SPECIFICS
Providing high-quality patient care and a truly personalized, patient-centric experience aligned with each patient’s preferences, goals, and needs.
Primarily outpatient and inpatient neuroscience care, including comprehensive neurological assessments, histories and physicals, new consults, follow-up visits, admissions, daily rounding, and care coordination.
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a broad range of neurological conditions, including headache disorders, movement disorders, dementia and cognitive disorders, stroke, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, neuropathy, and other neurological diseases.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and multidisciplinary care teams.
Coordinate care across the continuum, including diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, medication management, procedural preparation, rehabilitation referrals, and transition planning.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, neuroimaging, and other neurological testing; prescribe medications and document all care provided.
Provide patient and family education to enhance understanding of diagnoses, treatment options, disease management strategies, recovery expectations, and preventive care.
Perform procedures and interventions within scope of practice and assist with neurological and neurosurgical patient management as appropriate.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and ongoing professional development within the neurosciences program.
- 8-hour shifts, 1st shift days, 40 hours per week.

- Full-time, clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $55.20 - $63.65. This position is salaried.
- Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987.
- Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
- BLS/ACLS Certified.
- Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
- Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served. Neuroscience experience is preffered, but new graduates will be considered.
