Pulmonary Consultants and Wellness Center is an established and growing medical practice specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Our outpatient pulmonary clinic is located in Inglewood, California, and our team provides inpatient and post-acute care services at Centinela Hospital Medical Center, St. Francis Medical Center, Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, Kindred Hospital, and several surrounding skilled nursing facilities.

Our physicians and advanced practice providers work collaboratively to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with a broad range of acute and chronic pulmonary and critical care conditions.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and motivated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP/AGACNP) to join our pulmonary and critical care team as an independent contractor.

 

This is a flexible, 12-hour night shift position with a minimum commitment of four shifts per month. This opportunity may be particularly well suited for an experienced ACNP seeking a flexible schedule while maintaining an active role in inpatient pulmonary and critical care medicine.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in pulmonary medicine, critical care, hospital medicine, or another inpatient specialty and will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and the ability to manage medically complex patients in a collaborative environment.

 

We welcome both experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioners and motivated early-career providers. Providers with less than two years of relevant experience may participate in our structured Transition-to-Practice Program, designed to support the development of clinical confidence, critical care knowledge, and progressive independence in the inpatient setting.

 

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with acute and chronic pulmonary and critical care conditions
  • Develop and manage evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other members of the healthcare team
  • Evaluate laboratory results, imaging, diagnostic studies, and response to treatment
  • Manage and follow hospitalized patients as appropriate to the assigned service
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and coordinate escalation of care when indicated
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and disease management
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, consultants, nursing staff, respiratory therapy, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete medical documentation
  • Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration, quality initiatives, and ongoing practice improvement

Transition-to-Practice Support

For Acute Care Nurse Practitioners with less than two years of relevant clinical experience, Pulmonary Consultants and Wellness Center offers a structured Transition-to-Practice Program focused on developing competency and confidence in pulmonary and critical care practice.

The program provides additional clinical support, mentorship, and progressive development toward independent practice within the provider's scope of practice.

Qualifications

  • Current California Nurse Practitioner license
  • Board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP/AGACNP)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in pulmonary medicine, critical care, hospital medicine, or another inpatient specialty preferred or more than 5 years high acuity critical care nursing experience
  • Applicants with less than two years of relevant NP experience are eligible for our Transition-to-Practice Program
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and teamwork
  • Ability to effectively manage medically complex patients
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred

Pay Transparency

$1,100–$1,150 per 12-hour shift, based on experience, qualifications, and assigned responsibilities.
