Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Kansas City, MO

This contract opportunity runs through late May of 2027 and is located near Kansas City, MO. You will work within an all-special education setting, serving students with severe disabilities and medical fragility across K-21 years old. Qualifications and Experience Needed:

  • Current and valid LPN or LVN license
  • Experience working with medically fragile and special needs populations
  • Comfortable and proficient with multiple G-tube feeds
  • Skilled in using Hoyer lifts and supporting with diapering for multiple students
  • Proficient in daily medication administration and seizure management
  • Professional communicator, able to collaborate with colleagues and advocate for students
  • Positive, flexible attitude with a collaborative approach
  • Passion for working with students who have a variety of disabilities, including autism and complex medical conditions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care to students with significant medical and developmental needs
  • Ensure safe and accurate medication administration, observe for and respond to medical emergencies
  • Assist with feeding (G-tubes), hygiene, mobility (using Hoyer lifts), and other daily health services
  • Work closely with teaching staff and related service providers to foster a supportive environment for all students
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with staff, students, and caregivers
