School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Lakewood, New Jersey

Make a meaningful impact as a contract Registered Nurse, supporting students in a dynamic school health room setting near Lakewood, NJ. This full-time opportunity runs from as soon as possible through the end of the school year, offering the chance to support children and adolescents with special needs in their educational journey.

Youll be providing essential care for a unique student population, all with special needs. Your expertise and compassion will be vital in managing routine and emergency situations, addressing medical needs such as G-tubes, tracheostomies, seizure disorders, cerebral palsy, and more. Collaboration with staff, parents, and healthcare providers is key to ensuring each student receives safe and respectful care throughout their school day.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current and valid New Jersey RN license required
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric nursing environment strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability and comfort working with G-tubes, trachs, seizure care, cerebral palsy, and related medical complexities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in urgent situations
  • Compassionate approach to supporting children and teens with diverse needs

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily health assessments, triage, and interventions for students
  • Administer medications, manage complex equipment, and respond to health emergencies
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records
  • Support educational staff in meeting each student's health-related needs
  • Communicate regularly with families and external healthcare providers
