School Registered Nurse (RN) in Long Beach, CA

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Active and unrestricted California RN license required
  • Previous experience as a School RN preferred
  • Strong assessment skills, particularly in conducting vision and hearing screenings
  • Knowledge of protocols for managing student health, administering medications, and responding to medical emergencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families
  • Familiarity with documentation, record keeping, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct vision and hearing screenings for students, ensuring timely identification of potential issues
  • Provide nursing care, first aid, and assessments for a range of student health concerns
  • Develop individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all screenings, treatments, and student interactions
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to support student health needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings as needed
