Certified Medical Assistant / LPN - Department Neurology

 

At Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, we are focused on delivering quality patient care. Our Neurology Department is currently seeking a full time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LPN to deliver care that is second to none in our high-volume fast paced practice.

Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures.
  • Record and maintaining records of vitals and other pertinent patient health data.
  • Prepare Botox injections and administration.
  • Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
  • Complete prior authorizations for treatment and diagnostic testing.
  • Record and follow up on laboratory and diagnostic test results, including patient communication.
  • Manage patient communication, including returning phone calls, answering questions, scheduling of tests/procedures, referral appointments as needed., changes in medications, and coordinating prescription refills.

Qualifications:

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required. 
  • CPR certification is required or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
