A Brief Overview

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Adolescent Medicine department. This position will be Monday-Friday and the shift will be based off of the operational need.


Adolescent medicine, bi-lingual, reproductive, sexual health, gender affirming care, malnutrition care and/or substance use experience preferred.


A clinically competent practitioner of pediatric, family centered nursing. Provides safe nursing care to the general division population with minimal guidance, and bases practice on identified principles and standards of care. Responsible for day-to-day patient care, assessment and treatment in an outpatient office and comply with the administrative policies and clinical protocols as outlined in policy and procedure manual. Administratively responsible to the Site Manager and Ambulatory Nursing Director for nursing practice issues.

Education Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma Nursing - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing - Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • At least one (1) year previous RN experience - Required
  • At least one (1) year of previous Pediatric RN experience - Preferred

Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community. #sponsored Qualifications EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing with a B.S.N., Diploma or A.D. Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. EXPERIENCE: One year of post-education nursing experience preferred. Candidates should have experience with individuals with cognitive and/or behavioral challenges or medically complex conditions. Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position). Strong organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines. Valid driver's license must be maintained.
