Summary Of Position

Responsible for managing and providing care to women requiring annual exams, contraception and obstetric care. Collaborate with all other members of the healthcare team.

Minimum Qualification(s)

  • Masters degree in Nursing
  • Nurse Midwife Certification (CNM)
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

The CNM should be self-directed, responsible and accountable for clinical practice and also provide continuity, compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients. Our CNMs interests and responsibilities extend to the community level where they strive to improve maternal/child health from a patient-centered/family centered approach. Some travel may be required to satellite offices. Hours: Full-time positions include a combination of inpatient and outpatient hours in rotating 8-hr, 12-hr, and/or 24-hr shifts to total 40hrs/week on average. Responsibilities: North Shore Associates in Gynecology and Obstetrics is expanding and seeking an additional full-time Certified Nurse Midwife ! About the Practice Currently, we are a group of six certified nurse midwives ( 5.25 FTE). Our practice is growing and we are seeking another midwife to join our group. Ideally, this would be a 1.0 FTE position. We see patients in two office locations (Wilmette and Glenview) and attend births at North Shore Hospital in Evanston. The hospital environment is very supportive and has had a strong midwifery presence for over thirty years. We are dedicated advocates of physiological birth for both low-risk and high-risk patients. We have a special focus on VBAC deliveries (success rate of 92% in 2022) and unmedicated birth (63% in 2022). We have a strong emphasis on promoting vaginal birth with an overall Cesarean Delivery Rate of 7% in 2022. We are typically awarded the ACNM Triple Aim Award based on benchmarking statistics every year. We have collaborative relationships with our physician colleagues.
