I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Nurse Manager is responsible for oversight of daily operations of the nursing unit, and supervisions and support of personnel and patients. The managerial/administrative role includes setting the standard of care in the department(s), and managing budgets consistent with the mission, vision and philosophy of the organization.

A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Depending upon area of assignment, specialty certification/training may be required.

• Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML), Nurse Executive (NE-BC) or Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC) certification preferred.

• Current BLS certification.

B. EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum five (5) years progressive experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an acute care facility.

• Two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience.

SCOPE OF SERVICE

Same day Recovery Pre/Post has 10 pre-operative bed and 14 post-operative/procedure beds, including one isolation room, which can be used for both Phase I and phase II patients as needed. SDS Pre/Post hours of operation are from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday with Eye Call Team available 24/7 for emergency eye surgeries.
