Personal Care Caregivers must have experience providing respectful, hands-on assistance with: Bed baths Personal hygiene Dressing and undressing Grooming and hair care Oral care Toileting and incontinence care Changing protective undergarments Perineal care Changing soiled clothing or bedding Maintaining the client’s dignity, privacy and comfort Caregivers must explain personal-care tasks before beginning and treat the client with patience and respect throughout the process. Medication Reminders Medication support is limited to the responsibilities authorized in the client’s approved non-medical care plan. Caregivers may: Provide scheduled reminders. Document reminders and client responses. Report refusals, missed doses or other concerns.
