The Registered Nurse performs nursing functions and supervises other RNs, and other assistive personnel in the performance of nursing care according to the state nurse practice act. The Registered Nurse assesses patient needs, plans and implements patient care, and evaluates the effectiveness of care provided. The CVICU is a 6-bed critical care unit that provides exceptional care for patients recovering from Open Heart Surgery (CABG, Valve replacement) and a multitude of thoracic surgeries. Chart preparation prior to visits to ensure completion of required labs, imaging, referrals, and prior visit orders. Assist with in-office clinical procedures including injections, lab draws, thoracentesis and other provider-directed nursing tasks. Facilitate STAT testing as clinically indicated. Process and coordinate medical clearance forms, disability documentation, prior authorization forms or medical necessity requests. Care Coordination & Treatment Management: serve as a clinical liaison between providers, pre-certification, and ancillary services to support timely treatment delivery. Monitor patient schedules to ensure required office visits, labs and testing are completed in alignment with prescribed testing/treatment.
