Preop # beds: 13 rooms PACU # beds: 19 bays (split, 10 North PACU, 9 South PACU) Cases/day (average): about 40 surgeries, 15 GI, and 30 Pain Clinic / Day Scheduling details: Variable schedule (no self-scheduling). Call is in addition to regularly scheduled hours. We schedule cases Monday-Friday 0730-1930. Nights, weekends, and holidays are call shifts for urgent/emergent cases. We try to work with staff but will meet the needs of the department to cover ALL shifts and subject to change depending on department volume. The 0600 shifts float the most. Our staff will do either PACU or GI call depending on skill set. We offer 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts Monday – Friday depending on FTE: Shifts are… 0500-1530 (10hr) 0700-1730 (10hr) 0530-1600 (10hr) 0800-1830 (10hr) 0600-1430 (8hr) 0800-2030 (12hr) 0600-1630 (10hr) 0900-2130 (12hr) 0600-1830 (12hr) 1000-2030 (10hr) Call requirements: 2 RNs On-Call and call will change based on volume and staff. 1 weeknight (Sunday- Thursday)) from 1930-0730 (12Hrs) 2 holidays a year from 0700-0700 (24hrs) Currently every 6th Weekend: Saturday and Sunday 0700-1930 or Friday and Saturday 1900-0730 (12.5 hrs) We average about 6 call shifts on a 6-week schedule and try to schedule staff off the next day. Triage & Vital Signs : Perform triage and take vital signs accurately. Documenting Patient History : Obtain and document detailed patient history in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in a timely manner. Lab Specimens : Collect routine laboratory specimens, including blood, urine, and oral swabs. Medication & Injections : Administer medications and non-intravenous injections, including intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections. Clinical Procedures : Perform splinting, suture and staple removal, ear/eye wash, and procedure setup. Clinical & Laboratory Procedures : Perform basic clinical, aseptic, and laboratory procedures to support patient care. Occupational Medicine : Assist with our Occupational Medicine services, including drug screening, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, and pulmonary function testing, while adhering to company protocols. Compliance : Enforce and maintain healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and OSHA compliance. Administrative Duties : Perform office procedures and general administrative tasks; proficiently operate office medical equipment. Quality Assurance : Oversee compliance with quality assurance programs, CLIA waived laboratory requirements, and patient result trackers. Travel Requirement: Support staffing and operational needs by traveling to other Beaumont Urgent Care locations as required. Required Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications (must meet one of the following): Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution (diploma or certificate), OR Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA), OR Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an urgent care or ER/hospital setting Clinical Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture, injections, and general clinical procedures Technical Skills: Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR); EPIC preferred Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays Team Player: Positive, proactive approach to patient care and collaboration At Corewell Health Urgent Care, we believe in kindness, excellence, empowerment, resilience, and proactive service.
