You don’t have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen. You are able to perform other assigned activities which are taught by a nurse, for a specific patient, which includes but is not limited to: Assisting with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair or lift device) Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises Measuring and preparing special diets Engage patients in exercises or other activities Measuring intake and output Assisting with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splint Assist patients with daily activities such as moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles Care for patients by changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning the home, or assisting with personal care Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with the supervisor Build relationships with patients by conversing or reading aloud to help keep them mentally healthy and alert Accompany patients on errands or medical appointments. Must Haves: High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate 3 proven experiences as a Home Health Aide (HHA) in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide (HHA). HHA Certificate - (Minimum 40 hours HHA Certificate ) The Home Health Aide shall have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agencies Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and the ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job Current CPR Certificate and First Aid Training. This team will be responsible for care & services to patients as needed. Candidates must hold a valid CHHA License in the state of New Jersey in order to be considered. Responsibilities: Care for patients in the facility as needed. Assist with activities of daily living. Follow care plans and deliver the highest level of care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team. Communicate with families and patients. Requirements: Valid CHHA License in NJ. Prior Hospice Experience a Plus! Dependable transportation.
