Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Responsibilities of the home care aide include, but are not limited to, the following- · Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer. · Help clients with their ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) that are within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide. · Assisting clients with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing. · Assisting clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning and assisting with ambulation. · Assisting with prescribed exercises which clients and aides have been taught by appropriate health personnel. · Meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets, and assisting clients with eating. · Assisting clients to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans or urinals and incontinence care. · Performing household services including housekeeping, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship. · Assisting clients with medications reminders which are ordinarily self-administered. · Reporting changes in the client's condition and needs to the administrator or care designer. · Completing records regarding services performed. · Driving to appointments or to run errands. · Accurately records all hours worked. · Remains alert throughout the shift in case client requires assistance, responds immediately to any such needs by providing the assistance required, or calling the Company for guidance. · Participating in all required entry-level and annual training requirements. · Maintaining an active home care aide registration with the State of Ca. You don’t have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen. You are able to perform other assigned activities which are taught by a nurse, for a specific patient, which includes but is not limited to: Assisting with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair or lift device) Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises Measuring and preparing special diets Engage patients in exercises or other activities Measuring intake and output Assisting with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splint Assist patients with daily activities such as moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles Care for patients by changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning the home, or assisting with personal care Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with the supervisor Build relationships with patients by conversing or reading aloud to help keep them mentally healthy and alert Accompany patients on errands or medical appointments. Must Haves: High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate 3 proven experiences as a Home Health Aide (HHA) in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide (HHA). HHA Certificate - (Minimum 40 hours HHA Certificate ) The Home Health Aide shall have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agencies Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and the ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job Current CPR Certificate and First Aid Training. Driver's license and auto insurance must be presented under the title.
