Reliable transportation Responsibilities of the Certified Home Health Aide- Certified Home Health Aides help patients in a variety of ways. Certified Home Health Aides must record and report this data as medically necessary. Certified Home Health Aides can also help patients with their daily functions, such as dressing or taking a bath. They can assist with planning for doctor's appointments, other meetings and may organize transportation for them. As a Certified Home Health Aide you will be able to do facility work, hourly as well as live in. All affiliated Home care aides employed by Nurse Next Door to provide in-home care services will be 18 years old (or if under 18 years of age be a high school graduate or enrolled in a vocational education program) and have sufficient communication and language skills to enable them to perform their duties and interact effectively with clients and other agency staff. Home care aides must meet all registration, criminal background checks and training requirements as specified by the State of California Department of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau and Nurse Next Door policies. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Responsibilities of the home care aide include, but are not limited to, the following- · Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer. · Help clients with their ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) that are within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide. · Assisting clients with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing. · Assisting clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning and assisting with ambulation. · Assisting with prescribed exercises which clients and aides have been taught by appropriate health personnel. · Meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets, and assisting clients with eating. · Assisting clients to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans or urinals and incontinence care. · Performing household services including housekeeping, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship. · Assisting clients with medications reminders which are ordinarily self-administered. · Reporting changes in the client's condition and needs to the administrator or care designer. · Completing records regarding services performed. · Driving to appointments or to run errands. · Accurately records all hours worked. · Remains alert throughout the shift in case client requires assistance, responds immediately to any such needs by providing the assistance required, or calling the Company for guidance. · Participating in all required entry-level and annual training requirements. · Maintaining an active home care aide registration with the State of Ca. Your role will involve providing compassionate, high-quality care, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) in accordance with each client's individualized care plan. Under the supervision of our registered nurses, you will ensure our clients receive the best care possible in the comfort of their own homes. **Key Responsibilities:** - Providing assistance with ADLs, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. - Assisting with meal planning and preparation, observing dietary restrictions when necessary. - Assisting with medication reminders in compliance with established care plans. - Performing light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and laundry to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment for our clients. - Assisting with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety at all times. - Providing companionship and fostering a nurturing relationship with our clients. - Documenting and reporting changes in client's physical condition, behavior, or living conditions to the supervising nurse. - Following HIPAA guidelines and maintaining the privacy of all client PHI (Personal Health Information). - Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. **Skills/Qualifications:** - Completion of state-approved Home Health Aide certification course. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. - Compassionate and empathetic with a strong desire to improve the lives of others. - Ability to work independently and maintain high levels of patience and understanding. - Physically able to perform the duties of the position, including lifting and physical movement as necessary. - Reliable transportation and valid driver's license. **Education/Experience Requirements:** - High school diploma or equivalent. - Must have valid Home Health Aide certification. - Must pass a background check and drug test. **Physical Demands:** The position involves moderate physical activity such as bending, lifting, and walking. **Characteristics:** Our ideal Home Health Aide is compassionate, reliable, and dedicated to providing top-quality care.
