Job Summary: Endoscopy RN is a valuable member of the Perioperative, Endoscopy, and Surgical team. Responsibilities of an Endoscopy RN include, but are not limited t,o checking patients in upon their arrival to Perioperative Services, initiating peripheral IV, completing medication reconciliation, providing teaching, assisting with positioning for procedure, administering and monitoring moderate sedation as needed per policy, assisting with endoscopic procedures, and specimen collection. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responds appropriately and immediately in emergency situations. Maintains a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and/or staff to provide the highest level of physical comfort, and minimize risk and injury. Responds appropriately and immediately in emergency situations. Ensures compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure. Complies with the Hospital Attendance and Tardiness Policy. Completed all Hospital and Department Specific Mandatory requirements in the prior calendar year. Monitors and observes patients continuously during endoscopy procedures giving special attention to oxygenation, ventilation and heart rate and rhythm. Administers IV conscious sedation safely and in accordance with physician orders and nursing policy and procedure. Responsible for obtaining supporting information and completing required documentation related to medication reconciliation for use by the Attending MD. Approximately 10% of all dialysis patients reside in a SNF and are transported to dialysis three times a week placing a significant burden on patients and adding significant avoidable costs to the health care system. DSD Services teammates will have access to all the capabilities and resources DaVita has to offer, and will work to quickly leverage these to develop the infrastructure and rapidly grow the new service line.
