We are excited to be opening a new unit! Schedule: 36 hours weekly, 7PM to 7AM with rotating weekends. Type: In Person. Sheppard Pratt's inpatient units are nationally recognized programs for the treatment of individuals with a variety of mental health conditions. The new General Adult Unit provides specialized inpatient treatment for adults 18 and older. The program utilizes an intensive multi-disciplinary treatment approach through individual therapy, milieu therapy, and process-oriented, experiential, and psycho-educational group therapies. As a Registered Nurse/RN you will: Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans. Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician. Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families. Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff. Document and report patient progress to treatment team. Requirements: Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position. Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred. All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment. About this Job: General Summary of Position The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a physician/provider and/or a registered nurse. May perform phlebotomy. Utilizes the EMR to propose patient medication refills for provider approval. Completes requisitions for tests (if applicable). Contacts insurance companies for Pre-authorizations for patient medications and specialty referrals including insurance authorization. Floats to other sites/locations within the system as appropriate and performs all duties at multiple sites. Attends scheduled meetings including but not limited to regular staff meetings and training classes for safety infection control OSHA CLIA BLS and others as required.
