Overview NaphCare is hiring a Nurses Practitioner (NP ) / Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team of medical professionals in Atlanta, GA, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail. As a Correctional Nurse Practitioner (NP ), you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Understanding and adhering to correctional facility security protocols, while working closely with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients. Maintaining accurate medical records, documenting treatment plans, and reporting any relevant information. Conducting rounds, evaluating patients returning from off-site treatment Admitting and discharging patients from the facility Qualifications Experience / Requirements / Qualifications Advanced nursing education (Master's or Doctorate) Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner Must hold a current unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner in Georgia Current DEA registration An appropriate collaborative agreement with the on-site Physician Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association preferred) Be certified in a Board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening Knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care services. Assist nursing staff with the basics of aseptic and sterile techniques to avoid infection of residents and self-contamination of equipment and supplies. Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control. Take TPR, blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc. as directed. Promptly answer call lights and other resident needs. Utilize proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents. Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested. Attend in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirements. Be familiar with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures and know how to use the information. Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records/information. Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse. Protect the personal property of the residents of the facility. Must adhere to attendance standards per Attendance Policy. Maintain established housekeeping standards within assigned duty areas. Others as directed by the supervisor or administrator. Minimum Qualifications CERTIFIED: Current Nursing Assistant Certification from state. Maintain CPR Certification High School Graduate or GED OR NON-CERTIFIED: Does NOT apply to all facilities Currently attending a CNA class working toward certification. (May not work non-certified for more than four (4) months.) Organized and detailed in work performance. Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.
