Responsibilities: Responsible for seeing that approved standards of resident care are maintained throughout the facility and overseeing the quality of nursing care. Delegates responsibility for direct resident care activities to Head Nurse/Nurse in Charge of each unit. Responsible for supervising, evaluating, counseling, and coaching care members on assigned units. Responsible for identifying and resolving problems at the unit level. Keeps the Director of Nursing/Assistant Director of Nursing informed of resident’s status through verbal communication and written reports. Overview Provides high quality comprehensive nursing care to meet the needs of the patient/client and manages/coordinates the delivery of cost effective multidisciplinary health care services for a caseload of patients/clients consistent with VNS Health philosophy, policy, goals and objectives, and Standards of Nursing Practice. Works under moderate supervision. • Assesses the physical, social and psychological needs and environmental conditions of the patient/client through professional knowledge, skills of observation, interviewing, and physical examination to develop a plan of care. • Understands, interprets, and implements reimbursement protocols; determines the billing source for patient/client care. Responsibilities: The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
