SUMMARY Provides each of your assigned patients with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the patient's assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisor. ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS Non-exempt status. May be required to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Subject to callback during any emergency. ACCOUNTABILITY Reports to Charge Nurse EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS A high school diploma or its equivalent preferred. CNA Diploma from an accredited CNA Program required and as evidenced by primary source of verification. OTHER TRAINING, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Should be a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of this state. BLS preferred, but not required. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS Primary Physical Requirements: Lift up to 10 lbs.: Occasionally required to lift medical charts, supplies, and patients' personal items, e.g., clothing and food items. Lift 11 to 25 lbs.: Occasionally may be required when lifting soiled bed linens. Lift 26 to 40 lbs.: Occasionally to frequently required when assisting an ambulatory patient in bathing or dressing. Lift over 40 lbs.: Frequently required when transferring a non-ambulatory patient weighing between 100 and 160 pounds. Two aides are typically utilized when patient is unusually heavy or combative. Fingering: Occasionally occurs while documenting patients’ medical charts. Handling: Constantly handling patients' personal items, blood pressure gauge, thermometer, and eating utensils. Torquing: Not required. Controls & Equipment: Blood pressure gauge, thermometer, etc. Other Physical Considerations: Twisting: Occasionally may occur while transferring patient. Bending: Occasionally occurs while taking vital signs, assisting patient in bathing, providing peri-care, etc. Squatting: Occasionally may occur while bathing patient; also required when putting on shoes and socks of patients, and also when making eye-to-eye contact while talking if patient is in a wheelchair. Kneeling: Occasionally may occur while bathing patient. Crouching: Required when putting on shoes and socks of patients, and also when making eye-to-eye contact while talking if patient is in a wheelchair. Climbing: Not required. Balancing: Not required. EQUIPMENT USED Blood pressure gauge, thermometer, etc. SUMMARY OF OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious disease, air contaminants and hazardous chemicals. May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, family members, associates and visitors. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS In this position, the associate is required to be on his or her feet continually throughout the day. In a full-time nonrestrictive basis, the associate must be able to lift at least 40 pounds of weight, which is required when transferring a patient from a bed to a wheelchair. A transfer belt is necessary and required when transferring any patient. This is for the safety of not only the patient, but also the aide. Other nurses are available to assist with heavier patients as needed. The medical advanced practice provider working in Bradley Medical Center will be responsible for taking medical histories, examine, and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and other diagnoses (i.e. x-rays, CT scans, MRI) and make diagnoses. The medical advanced practice provider will prescribe medications and other ancillary services as indicated (i.e. physical therapy, occupational therapy, dietary consults, behavioral health consults). The medical advanced practice provider will provide patient education as indicated. The above duties and other duties as assigned will be performed in collaboration with a supervising physician and the physician assistant or nurse practitioner. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner program. Licensure: Registered PA or APRN license, or eligible for license, in state of Tennessee. AHA BLS CPR required. Experience: Demonstration of clinical competency in the Advanced Practice Provider role. Two years’ experience preferred. Skills: Demonstration of clinical competency in the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner role. Demonstration of qualities of leadership and sound clinical judgment. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, fellow co-workers and other members of the health care team. Ability to effectively interpret, implement and support hospital policies, regulations, philosophy and objectives.

Job Summary and Responsibilities A Nurse Resident is a new graduate direct clinical care registered nurse (RN) who continues to develop nursing knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors introduced in formal education as they transition into practice. They are expected to demonstrate the appropriate competency in both core and functional areas, listed below. Progression is expected in the areas of leading through mission vision and values, patient/customer focus, taking ownership, health care knowledge, teamwork, clinical performance improvement, service excellence, decision making and critical thinking, and patient safety. Job Requirements Education and Experience Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. - Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN/ADN) is required. - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred Licensure and Certifications Required on start date of cohort Licensure as a Registered Nurse: TN, GA, or other multi-state compact RN license. Per Nursing Licensure Compact requirements, RNs with a multi-state compact license from another state must complete the application for licensure by endorsement in the new state within 60 days of relocating. RNs with a single-state license from a non-compact state MUST obtain a TN, GA, or other compact license prior to the cohort start date--it is encouraged that they obtain this license prior to applying. RNs with a single-state license from TN or GA must work on a campus in that state.
