Overview The Nursing Supervisor has 24/7 Administrative and Operational responsibility for the organization. They perform under the authority of executive leadership. Operationally, they are responsible for patient safety, quality, staff education and service excellence. The Nursing Supervisor is a fiscal steward for the organization collaborating with nursing and ancillary leaders in problem solving staffing roles and responsibilities. Job Description The Inpatient Acute Care Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will join an existing team of highly skilled APPs in the care of patients requiring specialized cardiac care. Under the supervision of the Clinical Chief of Inpatient Cardiology, APP Manager for Inpatient Cardiology, and the Director of the Heart and Vascular Center. The Cardiology APP will play a critical role in the inpatient setting, with both team-member and individual duties. These responsibilities will include acute care management as well as pre- and post-procedural patient examination and assessment, diagnosis, and management of care, including but not limited to diagnosis; management, treatment implementation, coordination and continuity of care, development of practice protocols, and education of patients, families, and other health care practitioners. Department Description The Intensive Care Nursery (ICN), founded in 1964, is a regional tertiary center and has the proud distinction of being one of the first neonatal intensive care units in the world. In addition to caring for extremely premature infants, the ICN also cares for infants with congenital anomalies in need of evaluation and surgical interventions. The ICN opened the first Neuro Intensive care unit for newborns in 2008. Today, the ICN continues to enjoy a reputation for being at the forefront of innovation in the fields of neonatology and fetal treatment. Neonatologists, neurologists, radiologists and nurses work to improve neuro developmental outcomes in very premature infants and full-term babies who are at high risk of neurological injury or have clinical evidence of encephalopathy, seizures or stroke. Overview This position is responsible for the daily work and work flow within the Surgical Care Unit (SCU). The Clinical Coordinator/SCU Charge RN supervises the nursing staff in coordinating schedules, nursing assignments and patient care in the preoperative and postoperative phases of surgery from preadmission through discharge. Responsibilities Daily staffing: Assigns nursing staff according to caseload, types of surgery cases, and staffing needs in accordance with Title 22. Knows the strengths of each staff member and works to provide ongoing training and mentoring as needed to bring all staff to similar levels of expertise in both the pre and post op care of surgery patients. Assigns and gives breaks and lunches. Steps in to assist when needed in all areas when there are sick calls or emergencies. Job Description The Adult Infusion Centers at Mt. Zion and Mission Bay service the Medical Oncology population at UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center as well as any non-oncology infusion needs of patients at UCSF.
