Description Kindred Hospital Dayton and Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is a 97-bed hospital. With 51 long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) beds, we offer the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. Our 46-bed behavioral health unit offers treatment for adults ages 18+, including dedicated services for geriatric patients. The unit offers 24-hour supervised psychiatric treatment and crisis support for mental health issues and like the LTACH, we partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. We are located downtown Dayton near the I-75 and I-35 junction, to the west of the Great Miami River. Job Summary Supervises nursing staff, assesses patients needs and provides nursing care for patients. Plans and organizes training for unit staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs. Essential Functions Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates designated nursing staff; assigns duties and coordinates nursing services. Participates in developing nursing protocol and procedures. Provides continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff. Assesses patient needs; participates in providing nursing care; ensures services are carried out and documented appropriately Maintains patient health care records. Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Facility: Miami Valley Hospital Department: Medical Surgical Unit Shift: Full-time Days & Nights Available/ 72 Hours Per Pay The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service. The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry. The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards. This unit is a 29-bed Medical Surgical unit and all beds are cardiac monitored.
