Medical Assistant, Bilingual Job Summary: Core to the ArchWell Health approach is to have a robust clinical care team focused on the needs of our members. Care teams are responsible for delivering excellent and compassionate primary care and coordinating the care of our members with the broader healthcare delivery system. The Medical Assistant (MA) is a critical role to support the PCP day-to-day and ensure efficiency in the care provided to patients. MAs will work closely and collaboratively with their teammates to greet and room ArchWell Health members. S/he will be expected to assist in assessing patient’s health conditions, including performing routine diagnostic testing during appointments. Duties/Responsibilities: Conduct intake with patients, measuring and recording vital signs, patient interview, and medical history; perform examinations and routine screenings, ensuring patients are informed and all questions and concerns are addressed for each procedure Critically listen and engage with patients throughout appointment, ensuring needs and/or changing in patient conditions are reported to PCP, specialists, and/or other clinical personnel Perform all tasks with a hyper focus on patient experience, including processing of patient phone messages, including: returning calls; routing calls to other team members as appropriate; calling patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures; use CPR skills when necessary, all under physician supervision Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and conduct accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices; follows up with coached patients via weekly calls Required Skills/Abilities: Must possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and integrity, driven and focused work ethic Self-starter with the ability to think creatively and work effectively Ability to work effectively with various seniorities and diverse populations including staff, providers, members, family members, insurance carriers, vendors and market leadership Strong communicator that is customer-oriented Excellent critical reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to analyze situations, determine risks, and find solutions to prevent future issues and resolve recurring defects Experience with claims/quality reports and analytical software packages Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel plus a variety of other word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail and presentation software Ability to travel on occasion for company meetings Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required Must be bilingual (insert language need) and able to pass formal proficiency exam as part of the selection process A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Medical Assistant 6+ months' phlebotomy experience is highly desired Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR comparable healthcare vocational training (i.e. foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.) required BLS for Healthcare Providers required EClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus Embodies and serves as a role model of ArchWell Health’s Values: Be compassionate Strive for excellence Earn trust Show respect Stay resilient Always do the right thing About ArchWell Health: At ArchWell Health, we’re creating a community of caring designed to help our members stay healthy and engaged. The RN works in a 6-chair dialysis den. It is likely to be a 3-day per week schedule with NO on-call. This job is open for census growth. The RN must be flexible to support any of our local SNF Dialysis dens is needed and possibly get some hours in outpatient dialysis while census growth occurs. Approximately 10% of all dialysis patients reside in a Skilled Nursing Facility and are transported to dialysis three times a week placing a significant burden on patients and adding significant avoidable costs to the health care system. DSD Services teammates will have access to all the capabilities and resources DaVita has to offer, and will work to quickly leverage these to develop the infrastructure and rapidly grow the new service line. Ideal teammates will have experience in dialysis, get energized by improving the lives of patients, and have a track record of finding ways to Get Stuff Done (GSD). Direct Patient Care: The RN’s primary responsibility is to independently demonstrate best practice techniques and deliver optimal dialysis care. The role includes supervising Dialysis Technician who are tasked with delivering tandem care to meet the capacity and efficiency goals of the program. Complexity - DSD Dialysis care is a complex but fulfilling service line. Meeting and/or exceeding clinical outcomes are the goals and multitasking is an expectation to meet the needs of the service, the patients and our SNF partners. Autonomy and Critical Thinking.
