Job Responsibility Manages and leads team members, operations and patient care activities within a patient care unit during assigned shift. Collaborates with team members and nursing management in the development of methods, techniques and analytical approach to patient care. Ensures adherence to the established care delivery model, using knowledge of scope and standards of practice. Faciliates continual patient care unit compliance with the JC, CMS, New York State, DOH, Public Health Law, HIPPA regulations and System, hospital and department standards. Demonstrates core clinical competencies for patient population of oversight in order to supervise and provide direct patient care. Maintains current knowledge of scope and standards of practice, healthcare legislation, and population health. Interprets policies, procedures and technical methods for team members. Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations that improve patient care delivery and team effectiveness using evidence-based strategies and solutions. Performs related duties as required. Description The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for assuring compliance with mandated clinical orientation, competency assessment and interventions in the assigned clinical program of designated nursing staff within the Medical Center. This individual interfaces directly with MSMC Departments, Administrators, Nursing, Medical and Quality Leadership, and Clinical Staff, managing the educational and operational impact of all clinical care delivery, staff performance, and outcome measures to support clinical practice.
