Job Description The Medication Technician @ First Colonial Inn administers resident medication or assist residents with self-administration of medication and coordinate treatments to residents. Overview The Department of Medicine at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University is seeking an outstanding Medical Assistant to join the team. Position assists physicians, APPs, and nursing staff with patient care to include patient triage, referral orders, retrieve imaging and lab results, process work tasks, messages in the EHR and patient portal, assists other clinical staff with daily clinical and administrative tasks, and stock/prepare exam rooms. Also prepares patients for provider visits and assisting providers with procedures. Responsibilities Triage incoming patients by obtaining vital signs, following standing triage orders, reconcile medication list, reconcile allergies, make sure immunizations are up to date and prepare patient for the visit.
