Responsibilities include conducting various cardiac tests to monitor patients' heart and blood vessel conditions using diverse cardiology equipment, preparing procedure rooms, prepping patients for procedures, obtaining, and recording patient information, assisting physicians in procedure by circulating procedures, X-ray fluoroscopy proficiency, performing blood work analyses, and operating intra-cardiac ultrasound. Directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff, and patients. Independently functions during diagnostic and interventions procedures. Maintains a high level of expertise in specialty procedures within their assigned lab. Within the Cath Lab, this may include structural heart procedures and hemodynamics; within Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, RN’s perform device and electrophysiology procedures (EP), and operate 3D mapping systems. Within the Interventional Neurology Lab, RN’s perform carotid stenting, stroke thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, and other neuro-interventional procedures. Will be required to work varied hours, shift lengths, and respond to an on-call pager, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. Responsibilities: Prepares the patient care and/or procedure area prior to the arrival of the first patient or beginning of first procedure to provide for safe, efficient delivery of care. Receives and reviews charts for scheduled patients as soon as they are available for the next day. Assures that proper documentation, lab results, and consent is present in the chart prior to the procedure. Communicates abnormal lab results or other concerns to the physician/Nurse Practitioner.
