For Perioperative Anesthesia: • Demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of aseptic technique and has a working knowledge of the specialized equipment and supplies utilized by the Anesthesiologist/CRNA/SRNA. • Demonstrates knowledge of standards and recommended practices for the perioperative setting. Shares own knowledge with colleagues. • Provides anesthesia equipment and supplies based on identified needs in a timely, efficient, and safe manner. • Assists anesthesia personnel with the administration of general, spinal, and regional anesthesia. • Sets up all invasive monitoring lines as requested by anesthesia personnel. Under the direction of the Anesthesiologist/CRNA/SRNA, runs point of care labs and diagnostics, completing all required Point Of Care (P.O.C.) documentation. • Works closely with anesthesia staff during anesthesia emergencies and trauma cases; assisting with preparation of the O.R. suite, line placement, handling of blood and lab draws and patient positioning for procedure. • Troubleshoots and cares for all equipment used in the delivery of anesthesia care. • Receives, sorts, decontaminates, and cleans reusable anesthesia equipment. • Maintains and insures adequate inventory levels of anesthesia supplies in departmental service areas. • Assists with positioning the patient according to operating room policy and procedure, and transport post-operatively to the PACU or unit in a safe and caring manner for the patient. • Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient condition to the Anesthesiologist/CRNA/SRNA and other members of healthcare team. • Contributes to the department’s effectiveness by reporting to duty on time, adhering to policy concerning break and lunch, and completing assigned duties in a efficient, effective, and timely manner. Other Related Functions • The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. • Practices efficient use of supplies. • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit. Qualifications Education/Training • Nursing School Graduate • Successful completion of a 30-hour approved IV therapy course within 30 days of hire for inpatient/SNF only. Licensure/Certification • Current nursing license in the State of Florida renewed every two years. • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification. Experience None.

Responsibilities Essential Functions • Provides routine treatments and interventions consistent with the educational level and skills learned in the academic environment and demonstrated competency through Orlando Health. • Performs advanced skills after achieving demonstrated competencies such as: nasogastric tube irrigation, suctioning, and removal; wound irrigation; complex dressing change; maintenance of enteral tube feeding (Dobhoff, Nasogastric, and Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy); and tracheostomy care. • Performs increased or continuous visual observation for Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients as assigned and utilizes the Safe Patient Room Environment Checklist during staff changes or transfer of care for Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients. • Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs. • Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team. • Ensures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality. • Follows standard precautions. Adheres to Hand Hygiene and PPE procedures. • Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the registered nurse (RN) and other members of the healthcare team. • Participates in handoff report and conducts purposeful hourly rounding on patients. • Documents information according to Orlando Health specific policies and guidelines. • Transports and assists patients through the admission and discharge process. Also transports Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients to diagnostic testing and procedures. • Maintains a safe and clean environment. • Provides exceptional service and care to all patients, families, customers, and team members. • Transports and delivers items, equipment, blood products, and medications (excluding substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility. • May have limited access to areas storing medications. • Receives and processes incoming calls, patient calls, and guest requests. Qualifications Education/Training • Enrolled in an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program and preparing to enter the final two semesters or quarter of the appliable nursing program. • Completed Senior Nurse Intern competencies. Licensure/Certification Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification. Experience None, must be in your 3rd semester of Nursing School to qualify. 
Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities. Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs. Ensure that beds are made; trash has been removed, and a high level of hygiene is maintained in the room. Ensure that meals are served on time and assist residents with meals and feeding, if necessary. Take vital signs and report observations and any change in condition to the nurse. Practice infection prevention and control measures in compliance with Federal, State and facility requirements. Document in CNA ECS flow-sheet promptly, accurately and comprehensively/thoroughly. Make routine and frequent rounds to ensure those safety precautions/equipment are in place and in working order. Avoid development of skin problems or skin breakdown by providing timely incontinent care and frequent repositioning of residents that need assistance. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of experience or Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of relevant experience. Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of Florida. One (1) year of long term care experience or working with handicapped or developmentally disabled adults.
