26005620 Charge RN – Surgical Trauma PCU/Critical Care & Burn Unit – Full-time, Nights Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work hours: Full-time, Night shift Positions require 12‑hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. Team members may be placed on call for regularly scheduled shifts in response to census fluctuations. Department Highlights Justin 5 is a 35‑bed Surgical Trauma Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Burn Unit. On August 10, the unit will open with 18 surgical trauma PCU beds and 9 burn beds, with plans to expand to the full 35 beds later in the year. This unit provides higher‑acuity surgical trauma and burn care, including treatment in a dedicated hydrotherapy procedure room for the burn population. Although patient populations differ, this is one integrated unit, and staff are expected to work across both care areas. MAGNET facility Level I Trauma Center Primary Heart Attack Center PHAC The department prides itself in high performing staff with excellent critical thinking skills Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team Nurse to patient ratio 1: 3-4 Here’s What You Need Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly ACLS – within 90 days of hire required TNCC or ATCN - within 12 months of hire preferred CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire 1-year experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting required 2-year experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting preferred PCU experience preferred Burn unit experience a plus In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism have basic computer skills using medical management application systems What You Will Do The Charge Nurse will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team support and actively participate in shared governance/councils committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development. evaluates the effectiveness of interventions directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
