The centers include highly trained and hospital-based specialists. As a nurse practitioner in the centers, you will work alongside our cardiac electrophysiologists and partner with structural heart cardiologists, heart surgeons and interventional cardiologists to care for every type of cardiac condition. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Responsible for providing clinical care for patients with implantable cardiac devices including pacemakers, defibrillators and loop devices. Must demonstrate the professional and technical skills required to evaluate patient arrhythmia's and cardiac rhythm management devices, including program settings and troubleshooting. Acquires, maintains, and integrates knowledge of scientific principles and derived technology-based interventions for all cardiac devices. Responsibilities Responsible for performing in-office and/or remote interrogations and any necessary reprogramming of cardiac devices. Including the interpretation of arrhythmia's, troubleshoot, and reprogram settings of pacemakers and defibrillators according to patients needs and department protocols. Independently documents instance of patient care in electronic medical record. Assures the accuracy and completeness of documentation and adherence to billing guidelines. Performs independent daily reviews of remote transmissions from implanted devices. Completes trans-telephonic checks on patient devices requiring follow up in between office visits to assess basic function and patient status. Correlates information with the patients clinical condition to assist in the management of arrhythmias. Provides reports to physicians and completes required follow up. Triages and prioritizes patient plan of care and communicates information to providers/patients in a timely manner. Demonstrates triage skills pertinent to determining normal and abnormal conditions. Reviews patient information including device, health history, medications and health status. Provides appropriate education and support to patient and/or family. Responsible for documenting patient contacts regarding any company recalls including more frequent monitoring and taking appropriate actions for any required device changes. The Endoscopy department at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital is a highly specialized, full-service department meeting the needs of inpatient and outpatient clients. The lab specializes in Upper Endoscopy (EGD), Esophagoscopy, Colonoscopy, Flexible sigmoidoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), ERCP, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, Small bowel enteroscopy (SBE), and Video capsule endoscopy. The endoscopy staff consists of a NP, RN¿s and technicians who are overseen by an Endoscopy Supervisor. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Coordinates patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, equipment purchased, and statistical accumulation. Responsibilities Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions with regard to their age and developmental needs to attain the patient's optimal level of wellness and documents according to policy. Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment. May support the review of staff hours worked vs scheduled hours and determine appropriate disposition if variation exists. Perform and approve daily payroll updates. Reconcile time cards, bonus tracking and coding approval. Prepare, coordinate and execute all staff communications; prepare huddle agendas and lead meeting. Determine staffing needs; make nursing assignments as well as assign overtime. Recommend effective annual increases. Interview staff for open positions; evaluate and conduct performance reviews as assigned; draft and issue corrective actions/coaching; follow up regarding any disciplinary action to determine compliance. Responsible for staff productivity and the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Conducts performance evaluations and makes recommendations on areas of improvement if needed.
