Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift. Receive/give the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours. Make rounds with physicians as necessary. Assist in all aspects of a resident’s daily life, including activities of daily living, meal service, and social engagement. Appropriately communicate with clinical leadership when a resident’s needs change. Know how to approach and care for residents with dementia. SCOPE: Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research.
