Patients may also require treatment in specialty programming for trauma, eating disorders, and dual diagnosis (both substance abuse and psychiatric issues). Medication teaching activities, assessment of medication side effects and medication efficacy, and assists physicians in obtaining informed consent. Communicates with patients and parents the appropriate procedure for sending medication to the PHP program, and provides education about those medications. Ensures that physician ordered prescriptions are sent home to the parent on the day they are written. Maintains professionalism and adheres to the determined standards of care and performance. Accurately transcribes physician orders according to nursing policy and procedure. Adheres to the Infection Control policies and procedures of the hospital and follows standard precautions at all times. Assesses and reassesses patient’s pain and provides nursing care as needed.
