This provider will join a team of both physicians and APPs that provides 24/7 care to critically ill medical patients at the Rush main campus. APPs will work autonomously and in collaboration with Rush pulmonary/critical care attending physicians and fellows and will be required to perform a number of procedures including central line placements, paracentesis and temporary hemodialysis catheter placements, among other duties. Department/division specs There are more than 400 APPs employed across the Rush system. The AICU team is fully staffed with 9 APPs. We work closely with many departments (palliative care, hepatology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, etc.) as part of a multidisciplinary approach in the ICU. Duties & Responsibilities The AICU is a 28-bed unit that is staffed by both medical and surgical ICU teams. This position is 100% inpatient. Preferred Qualifications Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in the ICU is required. APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification.
