Provides clinical update on patient status to the donor centers and the insurance companies. Follows up with referring physicians about initial searches. BMT Coordinators are not responsible for post-transplant care and coordination. Coordinates post-transplant hand off for follow-up with patients to their referring physicians. Develops and maintains clinical database on bone marrow transplant patients. Responsible for entering orders within EMR for providers. Their role involves rapid assessment, quick decision-making, and supporting patients through their recovery or stabilization process.
